Richard Oppenlander, DDS
Author of the groundbreaking book, Food Choice and Sustainability, Dr. Oppenlander is a consultant and researcher whose award-winning book, Comfortably Unaware, has been endorsed as a “must read” by Ellen DeGeneres, Dr. Jane Goodall, and Dr. Neal Barnard, among many others. Dr. Oppenlander is a much sought after lecturer and has been a keynote speaker for several conferences and events and has presented lectures and workshops at numerous universities and corporations. Dr. Oppenlander also serves as an advisor to municipalities in the U.S. and to world hunger projects that are designing programs from his model of multidimensional sustainability.
Since the early 1970’s, Dr. Oppenlander has studied the effect our food choices have on our health and the immense impact those choices have on our environment. Dr. Craig McDougall, MD, Portland, OR

As the practice lead for ZOOM Prime in Portland, OR, Craig McDougall’s medical practice provides people with on-demand access to complete adult primary care by using food and movement before resorting to pills and procedures. Craig also works as a staff physician during the private corporate 8-day live-in medical programs for Dr. McDougall’s Health and Medical Center. Prior to joining ZOOM , he was a primary care physician at Kaiser Permanente in Portland, OR, where he was the physician lead and co-developer of the Northwest Permanente Healthy Living Program (a lifestyle medicine consult clinic which used a whole foods, plant-based diet to treat, prevent and reverse chronic diseases). Craig graduated with a BS in Biochemistry at the University of California, Davis, before attending Ohio State University College of Medicine, and became board certified in Internal Medicine in 2012. As a physician, Craig’s greatest reward is the relationships he builds with both people and his patients by helping them live better lives. He feels that change is not all or nothing, and every step towards achieving optimal health is important. Craig, his wife and two children practice the same recommendations he gives his patients: a healthy diet, reasonable sunshine, exercise and clean habits.

From her private practice in Los Angeles, Julieanna counsels clients throughout the world with various nutritional and/or medical concerns. She has authored articles published in prominent journals, magazines, blogs, and newsletters. Julieanna served as a consultant for the Forks Over Knives documentary and some of her recipes are included in both Forks Over Knives books. As the Executive Director of EarthSave, International, she brought whole food, plant-based nutrition to the forefront of efforts to improve the current global health crisis.

Julieanna received her Bachelor’s degree from UCLA and Masters of Science in Nutrition at California State University, Northridge, where she also completed her Dietetic Internship. She has taught as part of Dr. T. Colin Campbell’s eCornell Plant-Based Nutrition Certification Program, worked as a clinical dietitian at Century City Doctors Hospital, and has consulted for numerous businesses.

Victoria Moran is an American author and speaker. She has written a number of books specializing in both spirituality and veganism. Moran hosts the “Main Street Vegan” radio show and podcast on Unity Online Radio.
She started her career as a freelance magazine writer and has gone on to publish a number of best-selling vegan books, starting in 1985 with Compassion the Ultimate Ethic, which was based on her undergraduate college thesis. Her 2012 book, Main Street Vegan, is the basis of her company and outreach, including the Main Street Vegan podcast, Main Street Vegan Academy, and Main Street Vegan Productions. Her work in the field of veganism led her to win the Vegan of The Year award in 2012; her podcast won a Vegan Media Outlet Award in 2015. Howard Jacobsen, PhD is an online marketing consultant, health educator, and ecological gardener from Durham, North Carolina. He earned a Masters of Public Health and a Doctor of Health Studies from Temple University, and a BA in History from Princeton. Howard runs an online marketing agency and is the author of Google AdWords for Dummies. He is a researcher, and speaks, coaches, and consults on individual health and planetary sustainability. He is the contributing author to two books by T. Colin Campbell: Whole; and The Low-Carb Fraud; and to Proteinaholic by Garth Davis, MD.


Eric O’Grey tells his personal story of going from 330 lbs. at age 51, with type 2 diabetes and other health problems, to a 180 lb. runner in great health after adopting a dog (Peety) and switching to a whole food plant-based diet. He adopted a second dog as his running partner (Jake) after Peety died. The video about his transition went viral, and he speaks widely to audiences about his lifestyle change and the power of animals to rescue people.


Gene Baur is currently Farm Sanctuary’s president. With shelters in New York and California, Farm Sanctuary provides rescue, refuge, and adoption for hundreds of farm animals each year. Matt Ball is an American animal activist. He is Senior Advisor for VegFund. In 1993, Ball co-founded Vegan Outreach with Jack Norris. Ball served as the group’s Executive Director for 21 years. He is the co-author, with Bruce Friedrich, of The Animal Activist’s Handbook (2009). He was inducted into the Animal Rights Hall of Fame in 2005. Matt and his family live in Tucson, Arizona.


Keegan Kuhn is an award-winning documentary filmmaker, director, producer and professional musician. He is the operator of First Spark Media, a film and video production company tailored to creating stunning visual media for non-profit organizations and conscientious businesses. His films, including the 2014 documentary Cowspiracy: The Sustainability Secret, focus on social justice topics of environmental, animal and human rights issues.


Renee King-Sonnen is a Texas cattle rancher’s wife who became vegan, raised money through her blog and bought her husband’s cattle herd. She then founded the Rowdy Girl Animal Sanctuary. Renee’s story was featured in the film Vegan: Everyday Stories that premiered in Sedona as part of the Illuminate Film Festival in June 2016.
